About the academy

How we teach

Classes stay small. You will not stand in a line of twenty students waiting for a turn — you get coaching, repetitions and honest feedback. Every class starts with a safety brief, moves through dry practice, and only then goes to live fire. Nothing is rushed, and nobody gets embarrassed for being new.

Instruction is $95 per hour, whether you join a group class or book private time. We teach across the Coachella Valley — Palm Springs, Palm Desert, La Quinta, Indio and Coachella — and can come to your home for defensive planning walkthroughs.

Home defense is the heart of it

Most of our students are not competitors — they are parents, couples and retirees who want a plan for the worst night of their lives. That means storage, lighting, phone placement, who grabs the kids, what you say to a 911 dispatcher, and what California law allows. Shooting is only one piece of it.

Safety standards

• —Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
• —Never point the muzzle at anything you are not willing to destroy.
• —Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.
• —Know your target and what lies beyond it.

Every student signs a liability waiver and completes a safety briefing before live fire. Eye and ear protection are required and available to borrow. Students under 18 train with a parent or guardian present.
